"Someone once said that SingHealth Residency is like a gift that keeps giving. Even after I have graduated from the Programme, the friendships remain strong and continue to be platforms of cooperation towards providing better care for our patients."

I am glad I chose to be a SingHealth Resident. The heavy clinical workload gave me exposure to a wealth of cases that were fundamental for a strong medical foundation. Even though I was busy, the close relationship between senior staff and juniors created an open and supportive environment which made it possible for me to enjoy my training. Someone once said that SingHealth Residency is like a gift that keeps giving. Even after I have graduated from the programme, the friendships remain strong and continue to be platforms of cooperation towards providing better care for our patients. I am thankful I had the opportunity to train with such inspiring Faculty and a great team.

"I like that SingHealth gives a wide range of opportunities to develop myself in, should I choose a certain path. Be it clinical or academic, if I am willing to work at it, there will be support for me."

I have absolutely no regrets joining the SingHealth ENT Residency Programme. Rotating between SGH, CGH and KKH has allowed me to meet and learn from a wide variety of mentors. Friends from other institutions often remark that our programme gives us a lot of independence in terms of learning and practice and yet produces graduates that can perform well. I feel that to benefit from the system, which affords independence, requires one to be responsible and disciplined.

I chose SingHealth because my medical school’s ENT elective was held in SGH and I was inspired by the people I met there. However, if I had to repeat Residency again, I would still choose SingHealth because I feel that the programme is well rounded - adequate case load for learning, knowledgeable Faculty and a non-threatening learning environment.

I like that SingHealth gives a wide range of opportunities to develop myself in, should I choose a certain path. Be it clinical or academic, if I am willing to work at it, there will be support for me. Also, I like that when I go to work, I see many familiar faces – people that I have worked with during my Residency years and seen me grow. It makes work easier and more enjoyable. In that sense, it's truly like having a second home.
