The incidence of thyroid cancer has increased faster than any other malignancy. Although over-diagnosis due to the increased use of imaging studies accounts to a large degree for this. There has also been an increase in the incidence of more advanced-stage thyroid cancer, coupled with the increase in death due to thyroid cancer. We discuss the challenges faced in dealing with this.
