SingHealth Interstitial Lung Disease Course


Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are a group of disorders of known as well as unknown causes. Diagnosis is often fraught with difficulty and uncertainty, and this course aims to help participants overcome these challenges, enabling them to diagnose ILDs correctly, particularly highlighting various pitfalls and limitations of investigations, and emphasizing the benefits of multidisciplinary discussions. Latest advances including transbronchial cryobiopsy, a new bioptic approach, and therapeutic options such as pirfenidone and nintedanib will also be covered. The course will include lectures, interactive workshops with case presentations and multidisciplinary discussions.


Course Objective

This course aims to provide participants with an overview of the current classification of interstitial lung diseases, discuss diagnostic approaches, and review management and therapeutic strategies available for this complex group of patients.


Target Audience

This workshop is strongly recommended for:

  • Physicians and trainees from Respiratory Medicine, Internal Medicine and Rheumatology
  • Radiologists with an interest in thoracic imaging
  • Pathologists with an interest in thoracic pathology
