This four-day course is a joint collaboration among departments of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery, SingHealth Experimental Medicine Centre and SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation(SIMS). It aims to provide surgeons and trainees with invaluable instruction on the intricate techniques of microvascular surgery.
This course is designed to provide opportunities for participants to acquire basic skills in various microsurgical techniques, from the adjustment of the operating microscope to the performance of a free flap transfer. A series of excellent lectures and demonstrations will be provided. As the emphasis will be hands-on practice of these skills, the teaching faculty will comprise of surgeons and laboratory technicians who regularly use these microsurgical techniques. This ensures participants will receive optimal guidance throughout the course.
This course is designed for residents, fellows in surgery programs and practicing surgeons that utilise microvascular procedures. In addition, physician's assistants, research personnel and other members of the surgical team assisting in microvascular procedures are encouraged to attend.
