Dr Teh Ming Ming was trained at the University College Dublin and completed his endocrinology specialist training in London before becoming a consultant physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham, UK, in 2009. While working in the UK, he set up the first islet transplantation service in the Midlands and took on the roles of medical assessor for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) and the Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA). In 2014, he joined the Singapore General Hospital. He is currently a senior consultant at the Singapore General Hospital. He has developed a research interest in hypoglycaemia during his endocrinology specialist training in London. In order to pursue his research interest in hypoglycaemia, he joined Professor Stephanie Amiel’s research unit in King’s College London, where he investigated the effects of hypoglycaemia on the higher brain functions, using Positron Emission Tomography. He was awarded the Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from King’s College London for his research work.
