Strong History in Endocrinology Training
The first endocrine unit in Singapore was set up in Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where it eventually developed into a full-fledged department. Many of Singapore's most prominent Endocrinologists were trained at this department, which continues to produce outstanding leaders and clinicians in the field of Endocrinology.

As the nation's leading and largest healthcare cluster, SingHealth has one of the largest and most varied pool of patients. The exposure to a wide spectrum of cases, including less common endocrine disorders, allows you to gain a broad clinical experience in Endocrinology.

Your Career Prospects & Development
The SingHealth Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme prepares you for an independent career in Clinical Endocrinology.
Upon completion of the programme, you will be promoted to an Associate Consultant in one of the restructured hospitals. You will be expected to conduct ambulatory clinics in the outpatient setting and run inpatient services as the Consultant Endocrinologist, as well as lead a team of senior Residents, Residents and medical students in the ward rounds.
You can also expect to be involved in the teaching programme of your department as Residents and medical students rotate through your department. You may also choose to pursue a research career in the field of Endocrinology.
