Assoc Prof Tian Ho Heng

A/P Tian is a sports physician and Medical Director of the Singapore Sports Medicine Centre. His clinical interests include the management of musculoskeletal injuries as well as the role of physical activity and diet in disease prevention and management.   Besides his clinical practice, he is active in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.  He is the current Program Director (Clinical) of the Lee Long Chian School of Medicine’s Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine, as well as a faculty member for the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency Program and Sports Medicine Advanced Specialty Training Program.


Presentation Title: Exercising Your Way to Better Health

Over the past two decades, there has been increasing evidence regarding the role of physical activity and diet in chronic disease prevention, management as well as promoting healthy longevity.   This talk aims to provide the knowledge that a non-medical professional need to plan and begin a regular exercise program.  The benefits and risks of exercise, as well as the various types of exercise, frequency and intensity will be discussed.
