Presentation Title: Exercise Prescription and Delivery for Children and Adolescents

Physical activity is essential for the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of children and adolescents, but global statistics suggest that most are not sufficiently physically active. Furthermore, lifestyle habits formed during childhood and adolescence, such as regular physical activity and healthy eating, tend to persist into adulthood. When it comes to being active, there are many options such as sports, structured exercise, recreational activities, and free play. However, it can be difficult for children to be motivated or to exercise purposefully, so adults and healthcare professionals have an important role to play in inspiring and supporting them to live an active lifestyle and achieve optimal health.

In this talk, we will share tips on designing exercise programmes and effective strategies to motivate and promote successful physical activity participation among children and adolescents.
