Dr. Daniel Poremski is a Senior Research Fellow in the Data Analytics Office at the Institute of Mental Health. He obtained his Doctorate from the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University in 2014. His thesis focussed on supported employment of people with mental illness and homelessness in the context of the At Home Chez Soi project, a $110million multi-cite RCT. He conducted his postdoctoral training at St Michaels Hospital in Toronto, Canada. 

His interests include emergency service use and continuity of care, illness trajectories of people with acute stress reactions and adjustment disorders, and clinical care programme evaluations. His preferred methods rely on administrative data, but also employs mixed-methods, experimental, and economic methodologies. His efforts have yielded over 55 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.

Currently he is leading efforts to expand the robustness and predictive validity of clinical outcome estimators by augmenting administrative structured data with NLP-derived clinical notes data.
