Precision medicine (as defined as part of the National Precision Medicine Program in Singapore) involves the use of genomic data in combination with other data to develop preventive and therapeutic strategies that would improve health. To be effective, data has to be shared with academic investigators who can make novel discoveries to drive healthcare innovation, healthcare systems and health care providers, as well as patients and sometimes their family members. We also often rely on commercial entities to develop products and services to meet these healthcare needs. Effectively engaging stakeholders to ensure that their aspirations, and concerns are met is key to creating an ecosystem where such innovation can occur.
