Ms Xiao Li is an Advanced Practice Nurse (medical/surgical) in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department of National Heart Centre Singapore. She has worked in General Cardiothoracic Unit for 6 years, and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit for another 10 years before pursuing her Master of Nursing at the National University of Singapore, and has become an Advanced Practice Nurse. She has rich working experiences in looking after patients before and after cardiac or thoracic surgery in various settings. Ms Xiao Li has been involved in research, quality improvement, education and training, and direct clinical practice related to chest tube care and post-surgical wound care during her 19 years of nursing career. She has also presented many projects in the past Duke-NUS Scientific Congress, Annual Scientific Meeting and Quality improvement workshops, and won many awards. Currently she is still actively leading and participating in clinical quality improvement projects and clinical research to improve patient care.
