Adj Assoc Prof Tien Sim Leng is practising both Clinical and Laboratory Haematology, including Transfusion Medicine. He is currently a Senior Consultant and Director of Haematology Laboratory in the Department of Haematology and Head, Blood Bank & Cytogenetics section in the Departments of Clinical Pathology & Molecular Pathology, Singapore General Hospital. He is also the Director of SGH Haemophilia Centre, a recognised International Haemophilia Training Centre of the World Federation of Haemophilia.

He has appointments as Adjunct Associate Professor of Duke-NUS Medical School, Clinical Associate Professor of the National University of Singapore, YLL School of Medicine, and former Adjunct Associate Professor of Nanyang Technological University, School of Biological Sciences.

Adj Assoc Prof Tien has active interests in Coagulation, especially bleeding disorders and Transfusion Medicine as well as Blood/marrow morphology and Cytogenetics. He was the President of the 5th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis 2008. He was Chairman of Organising Committee for International Haemophilia Course, Malmo Programme 2013.

To-date, he has published at least 220 abstracts and 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has been awarded and participated in at least 45 Research Grants. He is a reviewer for Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore Medical Journal, Thrombosis Journal, NMRC and BMRC Grants.
