Assoc Prof Prema Raj is the Head of SingHealth Duke-NUS Liver Transplant Centre, Director of Liver Transplant Programme at Singapore General Hospital, the Director of SingHealth Transplant and the Deputy Director of the Liver Transplant Programme, Ministry of Health.

He has been involved in Liver Transplantation for the past 37 years. He trained in Paris, with Prof Henri Bismuth in Hospital Paul Brousse, and Prof Didier Houssin in Hospital Cochin, in both Adult and Paediatric Liver Transplantation. Thereafter, he worked with Prof Koichi Tanaka, Head of Kyoto University Liver Transplant Team then, in Living Donor Liver Transplantation. He has a special interest in small-for-size syndrome and organ preservation. Currently, his primary research is in tolerance induction in liver transplantation, bio-printing and 3D printing of the liver, as well as developing non-human primate model for multi-visceral transplantation.
