Educated in electrical engineering with focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and smart sensor technology, Dr Liu Nan is one of the pioneers in SingHealth working on smart and intelligent solutions to improve patient care. He joined Singapore General Hospital in 2009 and has been developing AI-based smart wearable systems for risk stratification of patients. His expertise is AI and data analytics and his areas of interests include emergency and critical care, cardiology, health services research, and population health. Dr Liu is an author of more than 40 research articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He is serving as an Academic Editor for 4 international journals, and is currently the Lead Guest Editor of a journal special issue on “Smart Healthcare”. Further, Dr Liu was previously invited to give talks on healthcare innovations at SingHealth Research Grand Round and Duke-NUS Quantitative Medicine Forum.
