Adj Asst Prof Lionel Cheng is a Consultant Radiologist in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He is also Director of Medical Student Education in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Radiological Sciences Academic Clinical Programme, and Director of MRI Services in the Division of Radiological Sciences in SGH.
Beyond radiology tutorial sessions, Adj Asst Prof Lionel has organised numerous radiology workshops for medical students, and was part of the founding group that started the popular “Survival Radiology” series designed for final year medical students. Although he is a digital immigrant rather than native, he believes in harnessing the power of Information Technology to enhance medical student education through the use of radiological images. He was only recently introduced to (and inspired by) the community of scholarly health professions educators through his participation in the Health Professions Educators Essentials (HaPEE) Course co-organised by the National Healthcare Group and Harvard Macy Institute.
