One of the nice features of this congress is the interprofessional participation. The sessions bring together all members of the team such as the physicians, nurses and therapists, which is really how it works in healthcare as well.

Global health is a highly interdisciplinary field, which seeks to improve health of populations, prevent and treat disease that transcends national boundaries, develop global and regional cooperation, and promote sustainable environmental, social and economic development.
SingHealth and Duke-NUS are establishing a new global health institute (SDGHI), which will work to improve the health of populations in Asia and beyond by addressing pressing global health challenges through innovative solutions and partnerships. SDGHI will extend AMC’s mission in areas of research, education and training, policy, and capacity building. These activities will build upon the current efforts of Duke-NUS faculty, and the training and health system strengthening activities of SingHealth’s International Collaboration Office throughout Asia.
SDGHI aims to improve population health, generate substantial goodwill, enhance AMC’s reputational standing, deepen the understanding and appreciation of global issues in the AMC, attract medical students with global health interests, increase access to global faculty and staff, and provide a unique platform for innovative activities.
