Medical Oncology is a three-year programme, with training conducted mainly at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), with satellite clinics at Changi General Hospital (CGH), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), and Sengkang General Hospital (SKH).You will have the opportunity to work closely with highly experienced and dedicated faculty who are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality training and mentorship.
Our programme offers comprehensive subspecialised oncology training that covers the breadth of oncology practice. Senior Residents rotate through four specialised teams to gain maximal exposure to both common and rare cancers. The four teams include:
During these rotations, you will engage with diverse patient populations across both inpatient and outpatient settings, building confidence and expertise in various oncological contexts. Patient safety and optimal learning outcomes are ensured through faculty supervision.
Senior Residents in their third year rotate through different healthcare clusters, such as the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and National University Health System (NUHS), gaining valuable experience across diverse healthcare environments.
They also have the opportunity to undertake a two-month elective rotation dedicated to research or to explore other areas of interest that complement their medical oncology training.
For those interested in research, the programme provides a Clinician-Scientist pathway with full institutional support. This pathway enables trainees to pursue advanced research training whilst maintaining their clinical development.
