SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency provides a supportive learning environment which trains well-rounded radiologists and develops both clinical and other skills such as education, research, and leadership. The opportunity to rotate to many hospitals within the large cluster allows us to be exposed to different practices, cultures, a wide range of learning cases, multiple prominent subspecialist giants and teaching styles.

Training is rigorous, but the faculty is very supportive, engaging residents regularly with feedback sessions. The strong peer and senior support are ever present, and the programme executives are always there to support us in our training.

My medicine journey started out of college in the US while teaching marginalized high school students in Chicago as part of Teach of America. During this phase, my students taught me more about life’s unfairness and health inequality than I could learn from textbooks. This eventually put me on a path to study medicine. While in medical school, my interest in Radiology became clear as I was pursuing a Global Health programme doing field work on traumatic brain injuries in Uganda.

This experience broadened my perspective and deepened my passion in Radiology as I became acutely aware of the integral part Radiology plays within the healthcare continuum. SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency has three crucial facets. It has a structured educational framework, passionate and dedicated faculty and most important of all it embraced each Resident’s unique background/perspective/strength.

Beyond cultivating diagnostic expertise, the curriculum is meticulously designed to nurture critical inquiry, adaptability, and leadership. I am especially grateful for the abundant research opportunities, coupled with robust support for presenting at international conferences and attending overseas courses, which have significantly broadened my academic and professional horizons.

Exposure to Global Health initiatives has deepened my appreciation of Radiology’s transformative role across diverse healthcare landscapes. Above all, the unwavering mentorship, collegial spirit, and shared commitment to excellence have made this journey deeply rewarding.

SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency Programme offers a robust and diverse experience across different tertiary hospitals and subspecialty centers, allowing residents to have a large variety of cases to learn from.

Our SingHealth faculty are also very invested in residents' growth and learning, actively engaging trainees in regular case-based teachings. There is also strong support from our programme executives, as well as a culture of close peer support.
