1. When is the residency interview?

We generally conduct our interview in the month of January.

 

2. What recommendations does the programme have for students/MOs keen on Cardiology to learn more before applying e.g. elective options?

Please contact our Programme Director or Programme Executive if you are interested in our programme, even if it is still a few years ahead of your application cycle. 

 
Our Programme Director and Programme Executive are happy to share more about our programme's strengths, outlook, as well as candidate requirements and expectations. 
 
You may also speak with our current Senior Residents - they can give you a perspective from closer to the ground. 
You can also visit our booth during SingHealth’s Career Day – for Medical Students & Junior Doctors to learn more about our programme from our Faculty and Senior Residents.
 

3. Do I have to do MOPEX postings to be considered for residency?

MOPEX postings are not required for consideration for SingHealth Cardiology Senior Residency training. 

That said, it will be difficult for us to assess a candidate's competency if he or she had not rotated with our department. 
 

4. How do I increase my chances of being accepted into the Residency Programme?

  • Commitment to a lifelong career in Cardiology 
  • Positive feedback when you rotated through our department  
  • Involvement in various research or quality improvement projects
