Urology Residents are required to complete two years of Surgery-In-General (SIG) Residency, which includes:

  • 12 months in General Surgery rotation
  • Three months each in Emergency Medicine & Anaesthesia/Critical Care
  • Three months in the assigned surgical specialty
  • Three months in a rotation relevant to the surgical specialty

In addition, all Urology Residents are to complete:

  • Six months of General Surgery
  • Three-and-a-half years of Clinical Urology

Residents rotate through four hospitals for their clinical training: Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Changi General Hospital (CGH), Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). This combination of hospitals gives Residents the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patients who present a broad range of urological diseases.
