“The toughest days are usually in the prosecution room, where we examine large specimens from operating theatres for histological evaluation. Regardless of volume, we aim to clear all cases by day’s end, which creates time pressure — especially when cases are complex. In many ways, this reflects the reputation of Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre Singapore, where patients with complicated oncological conditions seek specialised care.”
What People Don’t See
“Anatomical Pathology is diagnostic, but we do not always have immediate answers. Sometimes uncertainty arises due to tissue quality or quantity, and careful interpretation is essential.”
