My late uncle inspired me to pursue medicine from a very young age. To me, practicing medicine means walking alongside my patients during their most vulnerable moments. At the same time, it places me in a position that constantly challenges me to grow mentally and professionally.
Currently, I am a Medical Officer at Sengkang General Hospital, with a posting in Internal Medicine. Earlier this year, I attended the SingHealth Career Day 2025 – for Medical Students and Junior Doctors (held on 19 July 2025). Having completed my postgraduate studies in medicine overseas, I found the event especially useful in helping me learn about the various specialties and different pathways in medicine. In addition, I had the chance to meet and catch up with some of my colleagues — which was really fun!
Personally, I am keen on pursuing Residency training with SingHealth, as it offers more than just a training ground to practice medicine. The clinical exposure it provides is unparalleled and constantly reminds me that medicine is as much about compassion as it is about science.
Beyond gaining clinical competencies, I look forward to joining a community that will journey alongside me. This will make the overall experience more memorable and heartwarming.

Such events help you explore your options early and speak directly with senior Residents, who can guide you in discovering the specialty that fits you best. Their stories may spark your own sense of purpose — and you might be surprised at what you discover.
