Ms Amanda Hannaway is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for nursing leadership and excellence in patient care. Her current career path is in the Area role for the South Metropolitan Health Service and Director of Nursing for the Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals Group. Throughout her career, Amanda has exhibited a blend of clinical expertise and strategic leadership.
Her journey began as a registered nurse in the UK, where she honed her skills in various medical settings and expanded further in Australia to take on a specialist pathway in Cardiovascular nursing in the critical care field. This fostered a deep understanding of patient needs and the intricacies of healthcare operations before stepping into a Nurse Director role.
Recognising the importance of effective leadership in healthcare, she pursued a Masters, specialising in Health Administration, Policy and Leadership. This equips her with advanced knowledge in organisational dynamics, team management, and innovative healthcare practices.
Recognising the pivotal role of effective leadership in healthcare, Amanda has focused her research on the junior workforce and how to support nurses and managers in providing a positive work environment which results in improved patient outcomes and experience.
