Psychological first aid is a psychosocial support activity that helps people affected by an emergency, disaster or traumatic event. Psychological first aid is currently the most widely endorsed early intervention to support people affected by a distressing event. This session will outline the principles and elements of Psychological First Aid (PFA) and then discuss the implementation of a two stage PFA program to support health professionals at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group.
