In this presentation, Assoc Prof Jeremy Lim will trace the historic development of nursing as a profession within the broader context of clinical practice and health systems evolution, reflect on the practice of nursing globally and implications for nursing in the Southeast Asia region. He will pay particular attention to 2 major shifts: Task shifting across different health professional groups, and Site shifting of care from hospitals to the community. Finally, A/P Lim as the founding director of the SingHealth-Singapore Management University Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management, will offer thoughts on nursing leadership globally.
