Assoc Prof Ryan J. Shaw, PhD, RN is an Associate Professor and Digital Health Scientist at Duke University, USA in the Schools of Nursing and Medicine. With a clinical background in nursing, he engineers new models of care delivery that capitalise on the emerging digital health infrastructure of health systems and our society.


He is the Director of the Duke School of Nursing's Health Innovation Lab. Adjacent to Duke Hospital, the lab provides a space for entrepreneurship, product development and testing, and modelling and testing new care delivery processes. His research is funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), among others. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles in health informatics, nursing, and medical journals.
