Dr LIE Sui An
 

Consultant, Surgical Intensive Care, Singapore General Hospital (SGH)

Dr Lie Sui An is currently a Consultant with the Department of Surgical Intensive Care under Division of Anaesthesiology, SGH. Dr Lie obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2007 and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK in 2013. He then underwent SingHealth Residency Anaesthesiology training, and was certified as a specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

                                         

Following his specialist accreditation, Dr Lie went on to complete the Anaesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship Programme at the renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated to Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA). Other than clinical work in anaesthesiology, perioperative medicine and critical care medicine, Dr Lie also actively participates in medical education and mentoring of both undergraduate students and postgraduate residents.

                                         

On the research front, Dr Lie’s interests lie in enhancing critical care outcomes of elderly in ICU, focusing on the impact of frailty on clinical trajectory and long-term outcomes in critically ill patients, Health Sciences Innovation and Implementation Research, and the use of healthcare simulation in reducing latent safety threats and enhancing systemic operational preparedness.
