Asst Prof Alvin Chang leads the Quality Assurance activities and was a Patient Safety Lead of the Neonatal department. He co-chairs the Hospital Quality Safety and Standard committee, chairs the KKH Patient Safety Council and is a Patient Safety Champion. Asst Prof Chang conducts regular in-house Root Cause Analysis (RCA) workshops and speak up for Safety seminars. He is also the President of the Healthcare Quality Society of Singapore and Secretary of the Singapore Paediatric Society.

He has published a Cochrane review on neonatal transport and other scientific papers in various peer-reviewed journals locally and internationally on a range of neonatal-related topics. Asst Prof Chang also serves as the Faculty Member of Singapore Healthcare Improvement Network (SHINe), a collaborative programme with Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).
