
Emergency Airway Management Course
The Emergency Airway Management Course provides participants with up-to-date information and hands-on practice to ensure effective and appropriate management of airway emergencies.
The 2-day intensive course consists of core content lectures, practical skill stations on various scenarios and hands-on training in crucial airway techniques.
Course Objectives
- Demonstrates a systematic approach to assessing the airway
- Recognise the features of a difficult airway, both anatomically and physiologically
- Choose the right approach to managing the airway inclusing pharmacology and procedural methods of securing the airway
- Formulate and verbalise plans B, C and D prior to executing the first plan
- Recognise complications associated with airway interventions and be able to mitigate or respond appropriately
- Demonstrate the ability to secure the airway using direct methods, videolaryngoscopy, surgical methods
- Demonstrate team leadership and skills in managing the airway
- Demonstrate the ability to use invasive and non-invasive ventilation appropriately
- Understand the difference between the adult and paediatric airway
