
DnT01 - Design for Healthcare Innovation (Via Zoom)
This cutting-edge course equips learners with the skills to ideate, prototype, and deliver innovative medical solutions that enhance the health and wellbeing of diverse patient groups, including seniors, persons with cognitive/physical disabilities, and caregivers. Leveraging evidence-based user research and foundation methods of AI prompting, participants will brainstorm solution ideas tailored to specific patient needs.
The course is conducted online via Zoom over 3 days, with self-paced reading, peer review, and a hands-on project.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Translate insights into compelling evidence for human-centred design innovation, enhanced by AI-driven data analysis
- Apply advanced methodologies, including AI-assisted user research techniques, to examine existing solutions and use cases
- Critically evaluate latent needs through AI-enhanced context and stakeholder analyses, identifying key problems and formulating opportunity statements
- Perform comprehensive solution searches using AI tools to compare key design features and functionalities efficiently
- Adopt a Restorative Cities design framework, integrating AI insights to ensure people are engaged, enabled, and empowered in real-world settings
- Review and refine brainstormed ideas using AI prompting techniques to articulate new features, functionalities, and process improvements
- Develop value scenarios that illustrate the perceived and actual value of proposed healthcare innovations
Target Audience
This course is designed for forward-thinking healthcare professionals across all disciplines, including clinicians, nurses, allied health practitioners, and community care professionals.
