Overview:

Transmission of infectious diseases leading to outbreaks/ epidemics contributes to significant morbidity and mortality in communities and hospitals. Contact tracing is a key intervention routinely used to identify individuals potentially exposed to specific infectious diseases. It is crucial for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in hospitals and a vital tool during pandemics. For contact tracing to be effective, it needs to identify all exposed individuals accurately and rapidly.

This talk will discuss the utility, evidence, potential, and challenges of technology to support contact tracing.
