Helping At-Risk Individuals Workshop

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course/ conference, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise situations or common trauma events that lead to the feeling of stress in trainees
  • Describe practical tips on self-awareness, and relational and trust-building communication models
  • List resources on emotional hygiene
  • Apply the 3 “L” model to identify cues of distressed individuals
  • Refer distressed individuals to appropriate institutional help
  • Detect early signs of depressive symptoms and apply “CPR” model of suicide risk assessment

Target Audience

This face-to-face workshop is an introductory session to equip staff who are involved in teaching and mentoring juniors in training. You will learn to apply the revised 3 “L” model to look for cues and identify juniors/ colleagues in distress and refer them to appropriate help in your institutions.
