The College of Clinical Pharmacy's Pharmacy Support Staff Education unit is committed to enhancing the capabilities and professional development of pharmacy support personnel. Our programmes focus on expanding the scope of practice for pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants , enabling them to contribute effectively to patient care .

Medication Counselling Workshop for Pharmacy Technicians

Our comprehensive Medication Counselling Workshop empowers pharmacy technicians with essential skills in medication counselling for both acute and chronic conditions. This programme ensures patients receive standardised, quality medication education regardless of their care setting. Through structured training, pharmacy technicians develop competencies in patient communication, medication information delivery, and counselling techniques. This upskilling initiative equips pharmacy technicians to assume greater responsibilities in medication counselling.

Pharmacy Assistant Training Programme

We are working to bring to all a structured Pharmacy Assistant training programme to address a significant gap in pharmacy workforce development within the healthcare cluster. This comprehensive training ensures consistent quality in theoretical knowledge and practical skills development for pharmacy assistants who are an  integral part of the pharmacy support workforce, providing assistance in pharmacy’s vital daily operationsBy investing in the professional development of pharmacy support staff, we hope to create a  knowledgeable and skilled  pharmacy support workforce to deliver care efficiently and safely to our patients who are at the heart of all we do. Our education programmes aim to equip our pharmacy support staff to upkeep and upskill themselves in this fast-evolving healthcare landscape, and thereby, empowering them to excel in their work and contribute to the healthcare of Singapore. By doing so, we hope to enhance their job satisfaction and support them to meet their career aspirations.
