SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre Breast Care Nursing Specialty Course

This course is designed to equip Breast Care Nurses (BCNs) in with more in-depth breast oncology knowledge, clinical skills and a caring attitude towards the breast cancer patients and their significant others. It also aims to increase the awareness among BCNs on the importance of cultivating a compassionate, understanding and empathetic attitude when caring for the breast oncology patients.
 
The curriculum provides a systematic and structured course for BCNs through the e-learning platform. This platform facilitates learning flexibility by allowing learners to study at their own time and pace in meeting their learning needs. Reflective and journaling practice are also incorporated into the curriculum. This diverse teaching methodology equips BCNs with technical medical and nursing knowledge and helps them to develop higher level cognitive skills by facilitating reflection on their own clinical practice in improving patients’ quality of care.
