Ms Tan Bee Yee obtained her BSc with Honours in Physiotherapy from King's College, University of London, UK in 1994. She joined Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a physiotherapist, developing an interest in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy over the years, in particular in ICU and peri-operative care. She went on to pursue a Master of Health Service Management degree with Flinders University, South Australia.
Having risen to the position of a senior principal physiotherapist after 15 years of service at SGH, Ms Tan was appointed head of department in 2009, managing about 200 staff. In 2017, Ms Tan joined the new SCH to lead the Allied Health services. She is responsible for managing and setting up the Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, Dietetic and Medical Social Services for Bright Vision Hospital, Sengkang and Outram Community Hospitals, with an eventual staff strength of about 470.
