Dr Sophie YACOUB

Dr Sophie Yacoub is the head of the Dengue Research Group at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU-Vietnam), part of the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, University of Oxford. She is a physician in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine and holds an honorary Consultant appointment at the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust in the UK. She has a PhD from Imperial College London and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.


Dr Yacoub is currently leading a large translational programme of dengue research at OUCRU in Vietnam, focusing on pathogenesis studies, precision medicine clinical trials and innovative technology centred on wearable devices, physiological monitoring and utilising AI for clinical decision support systems.
