Asst Prof Shirin Kalimuddin is clinically trained as an Infectious Disease specialist and is currently a Consultant with the Department of Infectious Diseases at SGH. She is also a faculty member with the Programme in Emerging Diseases at Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Network (SCRN).
Her research spans basic, translational and clinical sciences, with a focus on developing better vaccines and therapeutics for emerging infections. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, she has been involved in research to study the immunopathogenesis of SARS-CoV2, and has led clinical trials to develop and evaluate new therapeutics against the disease.
