Assoc Prof Joyce Koh is a Senior Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery, Trauma Service, SGH, and has subspecialty interests in Upper Extremity and OrthoGeriatric Trauma. Assoc Prof Koh specialises in complex trauma of the shoulder and elbow reconstruction or replacement.
Her research interests include Geriatric trauma with specific interests in atypical femur fractures. Another area of interest and research is in novel emerging technologies. Assoc Prof Koh and her local team work closely with Prof Bernard F Morrey and his colleagues from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, on the early safety and efficacy trials as well as clinical implementation of a device for image-guided minimally invasive ultrasonic tenotomy for recalcitrant tendinopathy, and have published the long term follow-up of the technology.
Assoc Prof Koh is the Deputy Head (Research) of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, SGH, and the Deputy Vice-chair for Research for SingHealth Duke-NUS Musculoskeletal Academic Clinical Programme. She serves as regional programme contributor for upper extremity trauma with the AOTrauma International and is also active in the Mayo Elbow Club. Additionally, she is the Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Research Section, driving Orthopaedic research initiatives in Asean and the Asia-Pacific region.
