Asst Prof Hamid Rahmatullah Bin Abd Razak is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at SKH sub-specialising in hip, knee, sports and joint preserving surgery. He is a regular-rank Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore.

Dr Hamid is an avid clinician-researcher and has published more than 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also on the editorial board of “BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders”. His clinical practice and research focus is on joint preservation in young patients with knee arthritis. He was recently awarded the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Research Travelling Fellowship for a research attachment at the Department of Bioengineering in Imperial College London.

During this attachment, Dr Hamid learnt a novel mechanical model of osteoarthritis under the supervision of Prof Anthony Bull, a world-renown academic in musculoskeletal mechanics. Dr Hamid is now conducting further research on this model in Academia. He hopes that his research findings can be seamlessly translated from bench to bedside in the care of knee osteoarthritis.
