Dr Abhay Rathore is an expert in Flaviviruses, including some of the most significant human pathogens, Dengue and Zika among others. His research at Duke University, USA focuses on understanding the nature of immune responses against these viruses, after an infection or vaccination.
He is also an expert in mast cell biology. He is currently working to understand the innate protective vs systemic harmful effects of mast cell activation during inflammation, including during infections with haemorrhagic fever viruses, Dengue and Ebola.
