Presentation Synopsis
HM 5 - What Healthcare Needs Now: Frontline First

In the current healthcare environment where compassion fatigue and burnout are pervasive, motivating exhausted healthcare workers to engage in quality improvement efforts is more challenging than ever.  Healthcare executives can look to other industries for transferable learnings and craft such learnings toward their own team’s needs.

During this session, Dr. Tom Spiegel, MD, MBA, MS will share leadership lessons and a novel quality improvement approach called “Frontline First” that drew from his 3 decade journey through the corporate and healthcare worlds.  This session will focus on the components of a successful approach that develops an employee-centric and quality-minded culture.

HM 16 - The Value of Leveraging Your Data

Healthcare organizations face mounting pressure to leverage data assets for clinical and operational improvement, yet most lack a structured framework for assessing where they stand and where to invest. This session presents a comparative analysis of leading clinical analytics maturity frameworks and applies them to real-world health system examples from the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Germany, Canada, the UAE, and Brazil.

The presentation traces the analytics maturity spectrum from descriptive reporting through cognitive AI, details the multi-stage architecture of each framework, and contrasts their complementary strengths. Global case studies illustrate how leading systems — including Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, NHS England, and Singapore's NUHS — have translated maturity advancement into measurable clinical and financial outcomes. A self-assessment instrument, four-phase advancement roadmap, and 90-day executive action plan equip leaders to evaluate their organization's current position and prioritize investment.
