Jennifer has close to 30 years of experience in the civil service and public healthcare sector. She brings with her rich experience in the full repertoire of reputation management, external and internal communication, patient communications, and crisis communications. She has also led major campaigns and public education programmes at the national level. 

Jennifer started her career in corporate communications and public education in the then Ministry of Community Development, before moving to the Singapore Press Holdings. She returned to the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports in 2002 and, as part of her career development, was exposed to both policy and operational work. She was also the main secretariat for the Remaking Singapore Committee. 

Jennifer joined the Singapore General Hospital in 2009 and took on a dual appointment in SingHealth a few years later. She led and shaped the two Communications Departments under her charge, and played a pivotal role in elevating the value-added contributions of cluster communications in SingHealth, meeting varied communications needs. She established a team that brings strategic and insightful counsel regarding many wide-ranging issues from change management, staff engagement, and patient and crisis communications, to the Hospital's transformation journey in planning for the future. She also saw the Hospital and cluster through tough times and high-signature events, when SingHealth and SGH have been the focus of international and local media. 

As the Chief Communications Officer of SGH, she oversees the Division of Patient Experience, Communications and Development. She also helms Group Communications at SingHealth. 

Guided by "Patients. At the heart of all we do" as the common purpose, she contributes to the Hospital's commitment to provide excellent and compassionate care and service for her patients every step of the way. Jennifer also drives philanthropy as a strong and sustained source of support for needy patients and to further Academic Medicine, so that the aspiration to deliver transformative care to our patients can be a reality. 

Jennifer is also involved in many cluster- and hospital-level task forces and work groups that look into mission-critical areas and transformational initiatives, enhancing our communication to staff, patients, and their loved ones, engaging hearts and minds. 

With her passion for people and coaching, she is also involved in providing training for staff and future healthcare professionals in communications and in crisis communication and issues management. She is a certified facilitator for "7 Habits for Highly Effective People” and is an active mentor. She is the recipient of the National Day Awards 2020 Public Administration Medal (Bronze) and the Public Administration Medal (Bronze)(COVID-19).
