Call for Abstracts

Synonym(s):

The Organising Committee invites all healthcare professionals, educators, sport and exercise physicians and exercise physiologists from around the world to submit their abstracts and be a part of this Conference to enhance population health through Sports and Exercise Medicine.

 

Conference Topics (Categories of Interest)

The theme of the conference is Sport and Exercise Medicine in Special Populations, and abstracts are invited to submit to the following secondary categories:

  1. Paediatrics
  2. Geriatrics
  3. Women
  4. Disabled population
  5. Innovations in Sport and Exercise Medicine

 

General Guidelines

  1. All abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 2,000 characters (excluding title, authors, and affiliations; including spaces). 
  2. Abstract title should not exceed 20 words. 
  3. Language: English 
  4. No tables, graphs or images permitted 
  5. Write acronyms/abbreviations in full at first use 
  6. Standard abbreviations are acceptable; place special/unusual abbreviations in brackets after first use 
  7. Original articles relating to the research of the practice of Sports Medicine or Sports Science are welcomed. 
  8. Submission should contain work that has not been previously published and/or presented locally. 
  9. There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author or group of authors may submit. 
  10. Registration is compulsory for the author presenting the article at the Conference. Accepted abstracts are only eligible for presentation after receiving full registration fees. Registration should be completed before 29 January 2027. If the registration fees are not received by this date, it is assumed that the abstract is withdrawn. 
  11. The schedule of presentation will be made known to the presenting author closer to the conference date.

 

Structure

Abstracts must be organised into four clear sections:

  • Aim(s) of study
  • Method(s) and subjects used
  • Results obtained (Note: "The results will be discussed" is not acceptable)
  • Discussion and Conclusion

Steps for submission through the portal:
1.  Register for a new account at the login page.
2. Verify your account through email.
3. Log in to the portal to submit your abstract and/ or proposals.

Review Process

  • Each abstract will undergo anonymous review by at least two reviewers 
  • Main author will receive notification by 20 November 2026 via email 
  • Presenting authors must complete their conference registration by 29 January 2027 
  • Authors must ensure their email address is current and can receive communications from SEM Conference Secretariat

 

Abstract Withdrawal

  • Submit withdrawal requests via email to the SEM Conference Secretariat Team by 29 January 2027 
  • Please include reasons for withdrawal in the email
