About
The Healthcare Engineering Internship Programme provides structured, hands-on internship opportunities across a wide range of engineering groups within the healthcare system. Designed in collaboration with healthcare institutions and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), the programme enables students from diverse engineering disciplines to work on real-world projects spanning areas such as operations, digital health, data science, medical technology, and systems innovation.
Through these internships, students gain meaningful exposure to the healthcare environment by contributing to projects with clear operational, research, or innovation objectives. They work closely with clinicians, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams, developing practical skills while supporting ongoing initiatives that enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. The programme is structured to create mutual value—building students’ capabilities while strengthening engineering capacity across departments.
Our Role
CHE plays a central coordinating role in supporting the programme end-to-end. This includes collating and consolidating internship opportunities from departments, working with shared services and institutions to align job descriptions with academic timelines, and submitting opportunities to partner Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) for recruitment.
CHE also facilitates the recruitment process by managing the flow of applications, sharing candidate profiles with departments, coordinating shortlisting outcomes, and linking selected students with supervisors. In collaboration with Strategic HR, institutional HR, and shared services teams, CHE supports onboarding processes, ensures alignment across stakeholders, and helps streamline administrative requirements for interns.
Throughout the internship, CHE provides programme-level oversight, including coordination of allowance disbursement processes, tracking of internship progress, and consolidation of documentation.
