Professor Hwang Nian Chih is a Senior Consultant with the Division of Anaesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at Singapore General Hospital, bringing extensive expertise in specialised anaesthetic care to his role as Chairman of the TCM Clinical Governance Committee. He previously served as Head of Department of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the National Heart Centre Singapore for nearly 14 years, from May 2003 to April 2017, where he led one of the most critical and technically demanding anaesthetic subspecialties.

His contributions to healthcare extend beyond clinical practice to international professional leadership. Between 2004 and 2012, Professor Hwang served as a member of the Safety and Quality of Practice Standing Committee with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists, contributing to global standards and best practices in anaesthetic care and patient safety protocols across diverse healthcare systems.

Professor Hwang's extensive experiences in leadership positions across both clinical practice and medical education have equipped him with comprehensive understanding of clinical governance principles, patient safety frameworks, and quality assurance methodologies in healthcare settings.
