Dr. Chong is a Consultant in the Department of Haematology-Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS). As a Head and Neck Medical Oncologist, she frequently manages patients with significant long-term toxicities from cancer treatment, which has led to her growing clinical and research interest in integrative oncology.Her work in integrative oncology focuses on developing clinical care models that integrate conventional oncology with evidence-based complementary therapies to improve symptom control and enhance patient-centred care. She is particularly interested in evaluating supportive care approaches, including acupuncture, for the management of cancer treatment–related toxicities.Dr. Chong is the recipient of the 6th Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Grant (TCMRG) for her study titled “A Pilot Randomised Trial Evaluating the Optimal Timing of Acupuncture for Managing Chemoradiation-Induced Xerostomia in Patients with Head and Neck Cancers.”
