Ms Tan Wen Er Charlotte

Dietitian, Dietetic Consultation,
Changi General Hospital, Singapore


Ms Charlotte Tan is a member of the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA). Charlotte graduated from Curtin University in Perth, Australia with a Master of Dietetics in 2018.  She previously did a Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Science and Technology) at the National University of Singapore before furthering her studies in dietetics. As a dietitian in Changi General Hospital (CGH) she provides dietary counselling for patients with chronic diseases and nutrition support in the wards. She is also part of the Singapore Sport & Exercise Medicine Centre @ CGH, where she provides counselling and meal plans for patients seeking weight management or who are part of the centre’s weight management programme. Charlotte is also part of the bariatric team at CGH where she works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support to bariatric patients. Charlotte is passionate about sharing her knowledge with fellow colleagues and the public.

 


Presentation Title: Eating Your Way to Better Health!

Hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, diabetes and obesity are major public health issues globally as well as in Singapore. With Singapore’s “Eat to live” culture and high prevalence of dining out, healthy eating is even more imperative. This talk will focus on why healthy eating is important and what comprises a healthy diet. Through this talk, you will learn more about the My Healthy Plate concept and how this can help with meal planning. In addition, we will also be discussing about how to make dietary adjustments and choices that will help make a big impact on reducing the amount of fat, sugar and salt that we consume. Lastly, the talk will also cover some tips on hydration and nutrition during exercise.
