Hiroshi is a positive psychologist and certified senior professional with the Institute of Human Resource Professionals, he brings scientific rigour to wellbeing in complex, high pressure systems. His work focuses on making wellbeing practical, measurable, and operational in environments where performance, care quality, and human cost are tightly intertwined. 

Trained originally as a clinical scientist at Edinburgh University, Hiroshi spent his graduate and postgraduate years working in laboratory settings. This early experience gave him a deep appreciation of the cognitive load, time pressure, and emotional demands faced by healthcare and research professionals. It also shaped his conviction that wellbeing cannot rest solely on individual resilience, but must be enabled by leadership behaviour and system design. 

At Singapore’s national research agency, he leads organisation wide wellbeing and employee engagement strategy at A*STAR. His work embeds psychological safety, peer led support, and restorative practices into everyday leadership and team life. He has contributed to A*STAR being recognised among the Top 25 Impact Employers at the 2025 WorkWell Leaders Awards, with wellbeing outcomes exceeding public service benchmarks. 

As an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, Hiroshi integrates positive psychology and coaching to help leaders navigate pressure with clarity, trust, and sustained professional pride.
