Ms TAN Soh Chin

Ms Tan Soh Chin was appointed as the nation’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) by Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) in January 2015. As CNO, she takes on a strategic national staff function with policy oversight and accountability for the profession of nursing. Her office oversees the strategic development of nurses in Singapore, evaluating nursing policies and standards, and as well as providing professional input to MOH on all nursing policy matters. Concurrent with her appointment as CNO, Ms Tan is also the Registrar of the Singapore Nursing Board, which regulates nursing registration and education.

Prior to assuming the CNO role, Ms Tan was the Deputy Group Director, Nursing, at SingHealth and concurrently Director, Nursing, for KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Ms Tan holds a Master of Science in Health Services and Nursing Management from South Bank University, United Kingdom. Presently, she shares her nursing knowledge and expertise as a guest lecturer for the Advanced Diploma and Master's programmes at Nanyang Polytechnic and the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore, respectively.
