Asst Prof Sessions earned his BS degree from the University of Arkansas in 2001. After college, he worked as a research assistant in a gene therapy company in Raleigh, North Carolina, before enrolling in the graduate program at Duke University. He received his PhD in molecular genetics and microbiology from Duke University in September of 2009. Asst Prof Sessions did his post-doctoral studies at Duke-NUS Medical School and was involved in the application of high-throughput sequencing for the characterisation of the interactions between dengue and its human and mosquito hosts. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Emerging Infectious Diseases Program at Duke-NUS.
